Jones Valley sits south of downtown with Monte Sano and Green Mountain along its eastern side, and until the middle of the last century most of it was one farm. Carl T. Jones bought 2,500 acres of former cotton land here in 1939 and turned it over to cattle, and Jones Farm is still working today, with 33 acres kept open to the public as Jones Farm Park. The houses came in stages as the land was sold: ranches, split-levels and Cape Cods from the 1960s through the 1980s on the valley floor, then larger traditional homes from the late 1990s on, many of them built into the hillsides.
That range is what makes Jones Valley interesting to light. The older ranches and split-levels have long, low eaves that take a permanent track cleanly and read as trim in daylight, and they are easy to hang seasonally too. The newer hillside houses are taller, with steeper pitches and more gables, and that is where a permanent system saves the most effort, because nobody wants to climb a two-story front on a slope every November.
What a Jones Valley install actually takes
On the valley floor, not much drama. Heights are modest, access is good, and the work goes into measuring the run accurately, planning the power and spacing the fixings for a wet Tennessee Valley winter. Up the hillsides it changes: a house can be one story at the street and two at the back, driveways climb, and where a lift can stand gets settled on the site visit rather than on install day. We fix to the fascia and trim, never through the roof.
The commercial side centers on Valley Bend and the retail along Airport Road and Whitesburg Drive, where restaurants and shops want a frontage that stays lit through the season. Those runs are usually permanent, sectioned and scheduled around trading hours so a business never loses an evening.

Christmas and seasonal light installation in Jones Valley
Seasonal lighting is a full service, not a box of lights from a shelf. We design the display around your roofline, install commercial-grade product cut to fit your house, and service it through the season if anything goes dark. After the holidays we take it down and store it until next year, so nothing lives in your garage and nothing gets crushed between seasons.
Booking order decides the calendar. Installs run in the order they are booked, so the earliest dates go to whoever called first. If you want the lights on before the first weekend of December, get on the list well before the season starts.
Permanent outdoor lighting in Jones Valley
Permanent lighting is a slim track fixed under the roofline that stays up all year and reads as trim from the street. Run warm white on an ordinary evening, color through December, orange and white for a Saturday in autumn, or switch it off entirely. It is all controlled from an app, so nobody climbs anything.

Bosso is an alternative with its own fixture and control system that suits some rooflines better. We bring both to the consult and tell you which fits your house, including when that is the cheaper option.
